What is psoriasis?
Psoriasis is a common inflammatory condition, which presents as pink-red scaly areas on the scalp, face and body, sometimes associated with nail changes and joint pains (psoriatic arthritis).

What causes psoriasis?
It is caused by genetic factors, and triggered by environmental factors such as stress, illness, infections, certain medications.

What are the treatments for psoriasis?;
You will have a consultation with a dermatologist in the first instance to assess your skin, confirm the diagnosis, and discuss treatments.

Treatments offered in our clinic include:
i) topicals – for mild disease, creams, ointments, gels can sufficiently control the affected areas and reduce the frequency of flares.
ii) oral medications – these are stronger medications, therefore require regular blood test monitoring.
